Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP) recovered an unidentified body from a rented house at Mousumi residential area under city’s Halishahar thana here yesterday.
Following information from the house owner, police recovered the decomposed body kept inside a plastic drum from house number 29, located at road number one of Mousumi residential area.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) of CMP (West) SM Tanvir Arafat said the gender of the body could not be identified as it was fully decomposed.
“Police recovered the body after breaking the door of the house which was locked for nearly four months”, ADC Tanvir said adding that the tenants of the house might have killed the person four months ago and kept the body inside the drum wrapped in polythene bag.
The body was sent to the morgue for autopsy.
