Shailokupa Police exhumed the buried body of an unknown person from Kamalnagar village under Shailokupa upazila in Jhenidah district on Monday noon. As the body was decomposed, it was not possible for Police to detect the gender of the dead man.
Sub-Inspector Kabir Hossain said, the police being informed by the locals had unearthed the decomposed body at about 12.30 PM on Monday. The body was buried in an irrigation canal of the Water Development Board in the village.
A case had been filed with Shailokupa police station in this connection and the body had been sent to Jhenidah Sadar Hospital morgue for an autopsy, the SI added.
