Unhygienic food still being served at RU halls

‘Unhygienic and stale ‘ foods are being provided in the dining halls of Rajshahi University (RU) due to indifference of the authorities and lack of proper supervision, alleged some resident students.
Despite repeated complaints, the authorities concerned did not pay heed to the problems, a number of them said.
Several students of Latif Hall of Rajshahi University (RU) vandalised different some washing basins and other furniture and locked the main gate of the hall, demanding reshuffle of hall management as they found fly in the meal during lunch on recently.
Earlier, students of Bangabondhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Hall, Nawab Abdul Latif Hall, Motihar Hall, Begum Rokiya Hall, and Rahmatunnesa Hall formed a human chain and held demonstrations for better-quality food. However, the university authorities did not pay any heed to their demand.
Abdullah Al Mamun, a resident students of Shaheeh Suhrawardy Hall said We do not get hygienic food in the dining. Many of us becoming sick by eating those unhygienic food. But no initiative is taken by the hall provost to improve this condition yet.
Convener of hall provost Council Professor Dr Rubaiyat Yasmin said I was not informed about the incident of Latif hall.
However, I will discuss the matter in next provost council meeting how sanitary food can be provided.
Noted, Food price was increased to Tk 24 for lunch instead of Tk 20 while Tk 18 for dinner at night instead of previous rate Tk 16 last year.
