A three-month unemployed man was caught red-handed by a security guard in an outlet of Shwapno Super-shop while he was fleeing from the shop after stealing of a Nano milk pack for his child on Friday night.
The 30-year old ill-fated father opted the theft for the kid by exiling his norms and values just saving life of milk-feeding baby after failing to earn some money to buy a pack of milk.
The authorities concerned handed over him to Khalgaon police as a thief, but eventually he got the pity of Jahidul Islam, Assistant Commissioner (Khilgaon Zone) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police. At one stage, Jahidul heard the measurable condition of the man and asked the security guard about the price of the stolen pack. He paid TK 500 to the security guard to free the man apart from the moral humanity. Jahidul posted the incident on his facebook status that got viral on social media.
After considering the humanity, the Shwapno Super shop authorities on Sunday handed over an appointment latter to the ill-fatted father. He was given the job at the Human Resources (HR) Department with a monthly salary of Tk 20,000, said Tanim Karim, Head of Marketing Department of Shwapno Super-shop.
DMP’s AC Jahidul Islam, Shwapno Super-shop’s Executive Director Sohrab Hosssain and other cops officials, were present while the appointment latter was handed over to the man in Khilgain Police Station.
 It was 8:45pm on Friday. Assistant Police Commissioner Jahidul Islam of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) was doing his duty on a particular road. Suddenly he saw a commotion at a little distance.
He sent a sub inspector to see what happened. After a while some people dragged a young man to Assistant Police Commissioner Jahidul Islam. The people told the police officer that the man was running away from Shwapno Super shop stealing milk. The man broke into tears when the police officer asked him what made him steal milk from the shop.
He said he has been jobless for three months. He was penniless. He has a small child at home but he has no money to buy milk for his kid. Then the police officer asked how much was the price for the milk. It was Tk 390, the security guard of the super shop said.
Jahidul Islam paid Tk 500 taka to the security guard and asked him to let the man go. The police officer expressed his sadness over the plight of unemployed people in the country through a facebook post. There are so many jobless youths all over Bangladesh some of whom are getting involved in crimes, he stated.
