Resident Representative of the UNDP to Bangladesh Sudipto Mukherjee paid a courtesy call on Jatiya Sangsad (JS) Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury on Thursday at her office in the JS Bhaban here. During the meeting, they discussed different aspects of involving members of parliament (MPs) to attain the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), said a press release.
Dr Shirin said continuation of the UNDP’s ongoing cooperation and support to increase skills and capacity of the MPs is appreciable. The MPs can monitor the activities of the executive division of the government through Parliamentary Standing Committees and gather information about different ministries’ steps taken for achieving SDGs, she said.
