UNDP to continue support for BD’s Dev: Pauline

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) would continue its support for the development efforts of Bangladesh, said the UNDP outgoing Country Director Pauline Tamesis on Sunday.
“From the distance past, UNDP has been working as development partner of Bangladesh. The next country representative would also work with utmost sincerity for the development of Bangladesh,” she said.
The UNDP Country Director made the remarks as she paid a farewell call on Jatiya Sangsad Speaker and CPA Executive Committee Chairperson Dr. Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury at the latter’s office here.
During the meeting, they discussed various development issues with special focus on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and progress of UNDP assisted ongoing projects in the country.
Expressing gratitude to UNDP for providing support to Bangladesh’s development process, the Speaker hoped that the next Country Director would do the best for the country’s development.
Dr. Shirin Sharmin said that Bangladesh had made remarkable progress in its social and human development index in the last couple of years and it has become a role model in the world for achieving Millennium Development Goals (MDGs).
