One under trial prisoner of Barisal Central Jail died at Sher- e- Bangla Medical College Hospital on Friday afternoon.The victim was identified as Shakhawat Hossain Badsha, 55, from Mallikpur of Nalcity under Jhalakathi district.Dr. Abdul Mannan, physician of coronary care unit under SBMCH, said Shakhawt died from heart disease at about 4:00 PM Friday afternoon after admitted by the jail authourity at 5:00 AM of the same day.Shamim Iqbal, jailor of Barisal Central Jail, said Shakhawat was accused in different cases of murder and terrorism.He was detained as under trial prisoner in Jhalakathi district jail and from there sent to Barisal Central Jail on June 24 for treatment.BCJ authority sent him to Barisal SBMCH on the same day and he was backed to BCJ on Thursday after SBMCH authority said that his condition improved.
