At least 15 workers were injured as the roof of an under-construction tannery building of Anjuman Tannery caved in at Hemayetpur in Savar on Monday morning.
The identities of the injured could not be immediately known. They were admitted to the Savar Enam Medical College and Hospital.
A group of 35-40 construction workers were working on the tannery’s roof when it suddenly collapsed, said Savar Fire
Station’s Inspector Sheikh Masudur Rahman.
Two firefighting units rushed to the spot and pulled out the workers from under the wreckage, he said.
