Uncle arrested over murder of two siblings in Brahmanbaria

Police arrested a maternal uncle in connection with the murder of two siblings at village Salimabad under Bancharampur upazila in Brahmanbaria district.
Badal Mia was arrested at about 5:00am from Dhaka’s Sabujbagh area. He is son of Abdur Rab, of village Khoda Daudpur under Homna upazila in Cumilla district.
Kamal Mia, father of the slain siblings has filed a murder case with Bancharampur Police Station.
Contacted, Additional Police Super (Nabinagar Circle) Makbul Hossain said acting ona tip-off, police arrested badal Mia from Dhaka’s Sabujbagh area early Wednesday morning.
During primary questioning, Badal confessed his involvement in the brutal murders of his nephew and niece.
He said he borrowed money from his brother-in-law. They got in an altercation when his brother-in-law demanded his money. In sequel to the quarrel, Badal had committed the murder, police said.
It may be recalled that Saudi expatriate Kamal Mia’s son and a student of Class IV Kamrul Hasan went missing at about 4:00pm on Monday. The family members also did miking in the area in search of him. In the afternoon, Kamrul’s sister and a student of Class VIII Shifa Aktar also went missing.
Later at about 8:00pm, their mother Hasina Begum saw their blood-stained bodies underneath their beds in two different rooms of the house and informed the neighbours. Then police went to the place receiving information.
