Really it’s very tough to estimate the accounts of life. Few months ago, none didn’t realise this sudden shatter of life, business and livelihood. Her pseudonymous name is Dipa Chakrabarty. She is one of the teachers of renowned English Medium School in the capital of Bangladesh who teaches musics. Despite her indifference to family life, she lives in a rented small residence along with her senile parents. Her life was running well with the saving hoard of her senile parents, monthly salary of her school and the scanty income of doing few music tuitions. Now tuitions are not continued owing to the pandemic of covid-19. She got her last salary for the month of April in this crucial situation.
She has been informed that the authority won’t pay the salary until the school resumes. She has become frozen in an anxious thinking of her job if it will not be available after the opening of her school. She never asks for anything to any of her relatives or closest. For the last three months, she curtailed her daily expenses. Food, house-rent and the expenses of medicine for her parents are not possible to discard.
Her pseudo name is Tasha. She has been working in online and printing media for the last nine years in the capital of Bangladesh. Along with the reporting, she has aptness in desk-work. During this critical situation, she is doing her responsibility at her residence. Owing to this pandemic situation, she is working with huge pressure and suffering from anxiety of losing her job. Most of the authorities of online portals don’t provide any appointment letters to the employees. Thus there is no remedy of losing their jobs. During the time of this crisis, she stays indolently at home and counts the moment of the restoration of crisis. In the whole country including the capital, innumerable people are leading miserable lives in staying at homes losing jobs or without having salaries.
Workers of mass media, employees of tourism industry and real estate industry including the people of diverse professions are being on the verge of severe uncertainty. The struggles for surviving has become more serious and extreme than the venomous attacks of the covid-19 virus among these people. None can’t guess the intolerable miseries of the people of lower middle class and how they pass their days. Neither the people of this class can ask for something nor express their agonies to anyone.
It is anticipated that huge employed people will be unemployed owing to the adverse impacts of covid-19. According to the estimation of Policy Research Institute, a non-government research organisation, fifteen million people may lose their jobs for the detrimental impacts of this pandemic in Bangladesh.
Dr. Ahsan H. Monsur, Executive Director of this organisation has conveyed this statement. Fifty million of the people will fall into misfortunes if fifteen million of the people lose their jobs (on average, every family has four members).

Besides the talks about our country, we pay heed to India, our neighbouring country.
Mr. Nona Walla is a journalist who has been working for twenty four years in the magazine section of ‘The Daily Sunday’, a national daily in the whole India. Among the readers, journalists and writers, the daily is well-recognised. Few days ago, he posted a statement through Facebook, “I have no job now. It is not only me but also all who have worked in magazine section have lost their job. For twenty four years, I worked here sincerely with love. The ring of a phone destituted me and ensured my uncertain life.”
It is not only Nona who is in uncertainty but also the salaries of the employees in a well-known daily in English have been trimmed to fifty percent of the gross. Salaries of journalists that have been curtailed of a business oriented newspaper. Sixteen employees in digital and technical section of a private television channel have been sacked from their jobs. A digital news media in the whole India has dissected the fifty percent of total employees. The directory body of a television channel have granted leave of its forty six reporters, six camera persons and seventeen producers without salaries. A weekly magazine in English in Kolkata has transformed its printed version into digital form after closing the previous version. The newspapers in Kolkata have shortened their functions and given more emphasis on digital versions. After all, the employees and Indian newspapers are at stake. Owing to this pandemic situation the employees are facing these challenges but some employers have also formed ill-motives for their personal benefits. They have taken the pandemic as one of the weapons to curtail expenses.
Most journalists have faced the challenges of uncertainty owing to the venomously contagious infection of covid-19. During this circumstances, News Broadcasting Standard Authority has already announced that the reporters cannot collect the news of this global pandemic by roaming here and there despite of wearing on masks. Forty journalists and their assisting persons of an Indian television channel stayed at a hotel in Bandra for the coverage of this pandemic news. Among them, three people were hospitalised being infected in covid-19. The rest thirty seven people have been sent to confine to quarantine. Afterwards, News Broadcasting Standard Authority initiated this decision. According to International Labour Organization, nineteen crores people will lose their permanent jobs in the world within the next three months. Among this huge number of people, twelve crores people live in Asian countries and the Pacific Oceanic regions.
The unemployment crisis is accelerating in the whole world. Most of the business firms, other companies and organisations are considering to terminate the jobs of their employees facing the challenges of corona crisis. Thus they can pay less salaries and mitigate the amount of damage. It needs long-term framework to go ahead for reducing the damage. The decision is taken for this reason. IMF has stated that the number of people terminated from jobs will not be less. When this critical situation will prevail in the whole world, the largest countries like United States of America, United Kingdom and Italy also cannot escape themselves from this crisis. Nevertheless, the quality of damage is huge among these countries. According to the report of IMF, from five to ten percent of the employed people will lose their jobs in this time. As European and American countries are at stake in this situation, it is meaningless to say we won’t be affected in this tumultuous situation. In Asian countries, this stake will be severe.

It is very imperative to evaluate and analyse the writing on the pandemic of Professor Youval Noah, a historian and professor of Hebrew University in Jerusalem published in the Financial Times. According to him, this catastrophic situation may end next few days but the policies and the planning those have been taken now for the question of our survival, these planning and decisions will assist to alter and divert our ways of lives in the future. Human civilization is now confronting a global hazard and tumult. Probably covid 19 is the most critical and hazardous crisis for the living generations of the world. This altering situation is not occurring only in the services of government,
This running pandemic situation will also reconstruct the courses and ways of the national and global economy, national and international politics and native and world cultures. Now it is obligatory to formulate some effective initiatives considering the consequences and prospects of far-reaching impacts. Now we will not only consider the short-term remedies from this catastrophic danger but also we will speculate the future world and how this world should be constructed for our living. This consideration should be adhered to our thinking and speculation. According to him, short-term remedies and emergency will assist to lead our lives in normal ways but the nature of the severely catastrophic degradation and its urgency will be entirely different.
In normalcy, we have to prolong time with a view to formulating policies and its implementation. Most of the time policy-making has been accomplished but its implementation remains unfruitful and it fails in activating its modes of operandi over years after years. In larger disaster and drastic situation, it is mandatory to take hasty decision and its rapid implementation. Ineffective and even the detrimental technology are used in a derelict way to function for minimising the damage because it is very perilous to do more deeds than the prior. Then a country in that drastic situation becomes largely a test-case of social investigations. What will happen if all work in staying at homes in maintaining social distance (physical distance)? What will exactly happen if all schools, colleges and universities goes to the online processes? In normal situations, no government of any country would agree to go through this investigation and experiment. Now the duration of this situation is not customary and ordinary. And we are passing a drastic and catastrophic time.
We are passing last few decades without the agony of dunexpected death and dirges. Though it was not ignored of having war, conflict and some other laundering, looting and moral degradation; these were man-made and diverse from one country to another country, a nation to other nation and one region to other regions. It is supposed that the existing generation of the world do not observe this kind of global pandemic hazard. Death is inevitable to every human being but no human being could imagine such kind of global instability and uncertainty in last December. On the other hand, it is the bitter and extreme truth that an invisible virus of the nature or alleged man-made creation has terrified the whole world. All scientific knowledges and the technologies are rushing towards inventing the vaccine with a view to combating this pandemic.
A renowned American poet expressed his inner feelings in three words that ‘our lives flow’. Life won’t be stagnant along with our livelihoods, struggles and survivals. A new way of surviving must be emerged from these piles of damage and devastations very soon and calmness and serenity will appease the world again.
