Huge unauthorised drugs seized and sales depot in charge jailed and fined in Barisal on Sunday afternoon.
Bithi Rani Mandal, inspector of drug administration department Barisal office, said Holy Drugs Laboratories opening drug selling depot at Nathullabad bus stand area was selling different types of drugs and supplying those to rural areas and quack doctors.
The drug manufacturing license of that company was cancelled by drug administration department many years ago. On basis of that information drug administration department accompanied by law enforcing agencies raided the drug depot of Holy Drugs Laboratories on Sunday morning.
The team searching the depot seized unauthourised drugs of 20 items worth Tk 15 lakhs.
Reazul Islam, depot in charge, Miraz Hossain, store keeper and Nazrul Islam, cashier of the depot were detained during the raid.
The detained persons were placed before a mobile court led by Sukhomoy Sarkar, magistrate of district administration, on Sunday afternoon.
Then the court fined Reazul Islam, the depot in charge, Tk. 50 thousand and sentencing him to 10-day imprisonment sent to jail.
