All landing bed (ghat) of Karnaphuli River will be declared void if 2,191 ghats are evicted within next seven days as per directives of the higher court.
This was pronounced by the members of 19 organsations at their human chain on Sunday on the north bank of Karnphuli River at Sadarghat point.
The members and supporters of these organizations also declared to give up the boat wheel unless the eviction drive is complied.
The human chain sustained from 11 am to 1 pm.
Huge numbers of boatmen participated the human chain leaving their boats in the river.
The human chain was told that eviction drive was launched from February 4 to 9 i.e only 5 days but the drive remained stopped reasons best known to the higher authority.
The speakers in the human chain said they will launch vigorous movement on roads if the eviction drive not begin immediately and they also warned local administration for suing legal suits before the higher courts.
