University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB) took part in the EAUC Driving Sustainability Leadership Program at Westminster College, Cambridge, UK on 3-6 this month. The Environmental Association of Universities and Colleges (EAUC) and Pricewaterhouse Coopers (PwC) jointly organized this Sustainability Leadership Living Labs program where prominent scholars from University of Harvard, Oxford, Cambridge and Wales conducted the training.
ULAB is one of the first Universities in Bangladesh spearheading the agenda of sustainability in University campus life – both operational and in their academic curriculum.
As part of its Greening ULAB program, Dr Samiya Selim, Director of the Centre for Sustainable Development, went on this three days leadership workshop which focused on a few key themes such as operationalizing sustainability, sustainable innovation and sustainability leadership.
A total of 30 representatives comprising of academics, professionals and the private industry were present at this workshop. In this workshop, Dr Selim presented the challenges and opportunities of embedding sustainability in Bangladesh, which is very imperative at the moment with Bangladesh being in the frontline of climate change and at the same time working on achieving the UN SDG Goals by 2030.
