Ukhiya gets new health centre for Rohingyas

The opening ceremony of DCH Trust & PWJ Health Center for Rohingya refugees was held in Ukhiya Upazilla of Cox’s Bazar on Wednesday, said a press release. Dhaka Community Hospital
 Trust (DCHT) and Peace Winds Japan (PWJ) jointly established the health center.
Dr Misbah Uddin Ahmed, Upazila Health and Planning Officer, attended the inaugural ceremony as the chief guest where, among others, Capt M Abu Taher (AMC), Medical Officer of Hakimpara Camp, and Lt Rakib, Camp Commander of Hakimpara Camp, Thaingkhali, were present.
Project and Research Manager of DCHT Ronjit Halder and Director of Community Research Institute of Grammatology, Orthopedic & Rehabilitation Monirul Alam were also present there.
The health center will provide maternal and paediatric healthcare services along with medical emergency service to the Rohingya refugees.
DCH Trust & PWJ Health Center is also providing mobile healthcare services in the Upazilla’s remote villages, namely- Moinarghona, Balukhali, Thaingkhali and Palangkhali.
