Professor Ali Campbell, Reader in Applied Performance of Queen Mary University of Lodon, UK called on Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr AAMS Arefin Siddique on Tuesday at the latter’s office of the university.
Chairman of the Department of Theatre & Performance Studies of DU Sudip Chakraborthy and Assistant Professor Shahman Moishan were present on the occasion.
During the meeting, they discussed matters of mutual interest specially the possibilities of under-taking joint collaborative academic and research programmes on theatre & performance between the University of Dhaka and Queen Mary University of London.
They also discussed the possibilities of holding “Bangla Festival” in UK and “Shakespeare Festival” in Bangladesh under joint auspices of Dhaka University and Queen Mary University of London.
The UK Professor expressed his willingness to provide scholarships to the students of DU Theatre & Performance Studies Department for higher study in UK.
Prof Dr AAMS Arefin Siddique thanked the guest for his willingness.
