United Kingdom (UK) is keen to invest at Payra Sea Port in Patuakhali and the investment would be confirmed after UK-based engineering consultant HR Wallingford Ltd submits its survey report by September next.
Shipping Minister Shajahan Khan told reporters after emerging from a meeting with British High Commissioner in Dhaka Robert W Gibson at Shipping Ministry here on Tuesday.
“A terminal would be set up over 500 acres of land having facilities to stockpile over two crore tones of coal there and it would ensure providing of 10,000 tons of coal everyday at Rampal Power Plant which is earmarked to set up in Bagerhat district,” Khan said.
