British High Commissioner to Bangladesh Robert Chatterton Dickson has said Professor Dr Saleemul Huq has made a remarkable contribution to highlighting the threat from climate change and the urgent need for action, including attending every COP.
He made the remarks while attending a celebration at the International Centre for Climate Change & Development (ICCCAD) in IUB for Prof Dr Saleemul Huq being awarded the OBE, reports UNB.
The Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) honour to Dr Saleemul Huq recognises his work to combat climate change in Bangladesh and build climate expertise in Bangladesh, the UK, and around the globe, said the British High Commission in Dhaka on Sunday.
Dr Huq has dedicated his professional life to helping developing countries and vulnerable communities adapt to the impacts of climate change.
His scientific research, at leading universities and centres of excellence in the UK and in Bangladesh has informed international policy on climate change for over 35 years.
