A private university student went missing from the city since Tuesday morning and his family suspected it to be an incident of kidnapping.
Enamul Haque Polen, alias Afrin, 23, a student of United International University (UIU), went out from their Mohammadpur residence on Tuesday
morning for his university and did not return home since then, his mother told police.
Officer-in-charge of Badda police station Rafiqul Islam said Fatema Nizam, the mother of Afrin, came to the police station at around 2 am and registered a Diary in this regard.
She also alleged that an unknown phone caller rang her from Afrin’s mobile phone and demanded Tk 10 lakh as ransom, the OC said.
“We are trying to rescue Afrin,’ the Badda OC said.
