To mark the 50 years of Independence and the Birth Centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, Universal Help Hub (UHH), a voluntary organization, organised a day-long free medical camp on Friday at Charmutukpur village in Gangachara upazila of Rangpur district as part of the ‘Healthy Nation Campaign’.
During the day, 5 doctors and 10 volunteers provided free prescriptions to about 283 patients in the camp and distributed necessary medicines among all the patients. It was the UHH’s tenth free medical camp. Through the previous 9 free medical camps, the organization has provided free prescriptions and necessary medicines to about 8,112 marginalized and disadvantaged patients.
Md. Mujahidul Islam, president of the organization, said the services we provided were inadequate compared to the needs of a large population. He urged the government to pay more attention for health sector specially in providing proper medical services to these marginalized people.
