UGC Chairman Prof Abdul Mannan left Dhaka for India recently to attend the second Convocation of South Asian University (SAU). The Convocation wase held on 12 June in New Delhi, India. He returned the country on 13 June.
It may be mentioned South Asian University is an international university established by the Governments of the eight member countries of the South Asian Association for Regional Co-operation (SAARC). Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka are the existing members of the organisation.
SAU started its activities f rom the year 2010. The university currently functions from New Delhi, India.
