UGC Chairman Prof Abdul Mannan left Dhaka for India on Friday to attend the first Convocation of South Asian University. UGC Chairman is also a member of finance committee of South Asian University.
It is noted that the South Asian University is an international university established by the Governments of the eight-member country of the South Asian Association for Regional Co-operation (SAARC). Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka are the existing members of the organisation. SAU started its activities from the year 2010. The university currently functions from New Delhi, India.
