UGC book titled ‘Universities of Bangladesh’

UGC launched :

The launching ceremony of a book ‘Universities of Bangladesh’ published by University Grants Commission (UGC) of Bangladesh was held at a local hotel in the city on Monday.
Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith, MP, launched the book as Chief Guest. UGC Chairman Professor Abdul Mannan Chaired the launching ceremony. Nurul Islam Nahid, MP, Minister for Education, Bangladesh, Dr Abdulla Nazeer, State Minister for Education, Maldives, Prof Dr Baray Seddiqi, Deputy Minister, Ministry of Higher Education, Afghanistan, Dr Kavita A Sharma, President, South Asian University, New Delhi, Prof Dr Parashar Prasad Koirala, Chairperson, Governing Board, South Asian University and Chairman, UGC, Nepal, Prof Dr Mohammad Yousuf Ali Mollah, Member, UGC, Prof Dr Dil Afroza Begum, Member, UGC, among others were present on the ceremony.
The Chief Guest, in his speech appreciated the University Grants Commission of Bangladesh for publishing the book for projecting the overal scenario of higher education of Bangladesh.
Education Minister observed that teachers, students and researchers will find the book useful in thier education and research. The book will also be helful for the policy makers in making decision for the development of higher education.
UGC Chairman, in his Presidential speech said that the hand book will also be useful for foreign students, who would like to come to Bangladesh for higher education. He added that such type of book is published by UGC for the second time since its establishement in 1973.
Professor Emeritus Dr Rafiqul Islam, Dr Mohammad Farashuddin, Prof Dr ATM Zahurul Huq, Ex-Chairman, UGC, Prof Nazrul Islam, Ex-Chairman, UGC, Prof Dr Md. Akhtar Hossain, Member, UGC, Prof Dr M Shah Nowaz Ali, Member, UGC, Prof Md. Saiful Islam, Vice-Chancellor, Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology, Prof Dr Mizanur Rahman, Vice-Chancellor, Jagannath University including foreign dignitaries were present on the occasion.
They highly lauded the initiative of UGC for publishing such type of book of higher education.
