The University Grants Commission (UGC) on Monday in its 137th commission meeting with UGC Chairman Prof Dr A K Azad Chowdhury in the chair approved a budget of Taka 2015.46 Crore for 2014-2015 fiscal year.
The commission also approved a revised budget of Taka 1824.70 crore for 2013-2014 fiscal year and for the country’s public universities, an official release of the UGC said.
The meeting okayed the original budget of Taka 21.61 crore for 2014-2015 fiscal year and revised budget of Taka 19.66 crore for 2013-2014 fiscal year for UGC.
Planning Commission Member Md Abdul Mannan Hawlader, UGC Members-Prof Dr Atful Hye Shibly, Prof Dr M Muhibur Rahman, Prof Dr Mohammad Mohabbat Khan, Prof Dr Abul Hashem and Prof Dr Md Akhtar Hossain, Begum Rokeya University Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr A K M Noor-Un-Nabi, Md Rafiqul Alam Beg, Sylhet Agricultural University Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Md Shahid Ullah Talukder, Barisal University Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Md Harunor Rashid Khan, Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Muhammed Alamgir, UGC Secretary Dr Md Khaled and UGC Finance and Accounts Director Muhammed Ibrahim Kabir attended the meeting.
