Speakers at a workshop on Friday said the government is planning to turn the country’s 4,550 Union Digital Centers (UDCs) into mini Business Process Outsourcing Centers (BPO) aimed at conducting outsourcing and e-commerce at grassroots.
The training on outsourcing and e-commerce and writing reports and features to the entrepreneurs of UDCs will help implement government’s plan to make the UDCs into mini BPOs, they told the workshop.
Trinomuler Tathyajanala of ICT Division and Tathyaseba Barta Sangstha (TSB) jointly hosted the workshop at deputy commissioner’s conference room here to provide training to the entrepreneurs of UDCs of Comilla district.
Additional Secretary of ICT Division Susanta Kumar Saha said in line with its plan to build Digital Bangladesh the government led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has set up 4,550 UDCs across the country to ensure rural people’s easy access to public services.
The entrepreneurs of these UDCs are involved in providing information and services to the people using Information and Communication Technology (ICT), he said.
Susanta said the National Executive Committee for Economic Council (ECNEC) chaired by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has approved the Infosarker-3 Project that would establish connectivity with most of the unions of the country.
