The Union Digital Center entrepreneurs will write reports, features to disseminate those through social and mass media.
Keeping this objective in mind a workshop was organised on Wednesday at the Jessore Government Teachers’ Training College (TTC) to provide training to the entrepreneurs of Union Digital Centers (UDCs) on writing reports, features and outsourcing and e-commerce.
Chaired by Professor of Jessore Government TTC Principal Nikhil Kumar Roy, the workshop was addressed by Director General (admin) of Prime Minister’s Office Kabir Bin Anwar, Additional Secretary of ICT Division Sushanta Kumar Saha, Communication Specialist of Leveraging ICT for Growth, Employment and Governance (LICT) Project Ajit Kumar Sarkar and Deputy Commissioner of Jessore Dr. Humayun Kabir.
Executive Editor of Tathyaseba Barta Sangstha (TSB) Dr. Aliur Rahman made a power point presentation highlighting the overall activities of the Trinomuler Tathyajanala Programme.
Kabir Bin Anwar said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated over 4,500 Union Digital Centers across the country aimed at reaching information and services at the doorstep of the grassroots people.
Over 10,000 UDC entrepreneurs who are involved in providing information and services to the people are also writing in blog and social media, he said adding that Trinomuler Tathyajanala Programme of ICT Division has been launched to enhance their skills in writing news and features.
Kabir said the UDC entrepreneurs will also get training on outsourcing and e-commerce so that they could become mini Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) Centers.
Ajit Kumar Sarkar said most of the development activities of the government have been expanded up to the grassroots level. The entrepreneurs of UDCs could write news and features on development and socio-economic activities and success stories of grassroots people if they are provided with training on citizen journalism, he added.
Urging the UDC entrepreneurs to take training with utmost sincerity Sushanta Kumar Saha said the training on outsourcing and e-commerce will help increase earnings of the UDC entrepreneurs.
Later Kabir Anwar inaugurated the training programme.
