BSS, Rangpur :
Struggling with poverty since childhood, union digital centre (UDC) entrepreneur Arifuzzaman Moon has earned fortune by reaching digitised online and offline services to common people.
“I am the elder among two brothers —- I continued studies amid abject poverty, passed HSC examinations in 2006 — had to run after livelihoods,” said Moon, a 29-year old youth, of village Keshobpur under Sadar upazila.
“My days were passing amid hardship —– I never lost self-confidence and decided to adapt to modern technologies and started learning computer in 2005 when number of computers was limited in Rangpur,” he said.
To acquire knowledge on computer, Moon voluntarily joined a digital photo studio in Palichara Bazar near his village under Saddyapuskorini union along with continuing studies.
“Suddenly, I came to know that one male and another female entrepreneur would be appointed in every UDC when I applied for the post in 2010,” Moon said.
He completed various training courses on computer, ICT, internet and other digitised activities under assistance of the a2i programme. “Since joining as entrepreneur at Saddyapuskorini UDC on November 11 in 2010, I started dreaming for building digital Bangladesh realising Vision 2021 as envisioned by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina,” Moon said.
Moon along with his co-entrepreneur Taznur Begum began providing both online and offline services to common people with one computer, one black and white printer and a modem in the beginning.
