Uday Kaul scored a brilliant century as Shinepukur Cricket Club posted a 88-run victory over Khelaghar Samaja Kalyan Samity in the 4th round of Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League (DPDCL) held on Monday at BKSP ground in Savar.
Put to bat first by Khelaghar, Shinepukur posted a challenging total of 294 for 7 from their allotted 50 overs. Indian recruit wicketkeeper batsman Uday Kaul scored 137 off 136-ball laced with 12 boundaries and three over boundaries and also made 110-run fourth wicket stand with Afif Hossain who chipped away 43 runs.
Sabbir Rahman (34), Touhidul Hridoy (24) were the other notable scorers for Shinepukur.
Moinul Islam and Mohammad Saddam shared two wickets each conceding 17 and 8 runs respectively.
In reply, Khelaghar Samaj Kalyan Samity found the chase stiff and was finally dismissed at 206 in 45.4 overs.
Despite a good start by opener Rafsan Mahmud (62), Amit Mujumder (43) and Nazimuddin (24), Khelaghar lost wickets in regular intervals. Apart from Rafsan and Amit’s 49-run second wicket stand, the other remaining batsmen failed to build any effective partnership to chase the total.
Raihan Uddin was the pick of Shinepukur bowler as he grabbed three wickets for 22 runs while Mohammad Saifuddin and Afif Hossain shared two wickets each for 44 and 49 runs respectively.
Uday Kaul of Shinepukur was named the player of the match for his impressive batting performance.
