The United Arab Emirates (UAE) authorities have postponed the execution of death sentence of three Bangladesh nationals.
The death penalties were scheduled to be executed on January 22 in Sharjah, said a Foreign Ministry media release here Thursday. The three convicts are: Mohammed Nayeb Ali, Kamrul Islam and Atique Ashraf Hossain, it said. The postponement is to allow time to negotiate with the blood heirs of the victims in order to complete the legal formalities regarding the pardon.
The postponement is a sequel to the continuous and intensive effort by the Bangladesh Embassy in Abu Dhabi to get amnesty in this regard, said the release.
