The United Arab Emirates (UAE) Ambassador in Dhaka, Dr Saeed Bin Hajar Al-Shehi, called on Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury at the latter’s office here on Monday.
During the meeting, they discussed various bilateral issues and talked on parliamentary democracy and different aspects of development. They also pressed for strengthening the relations between both the nations.
Terming the existing relations between Bangladesh and the UAE “excellent”, the Speaker said there are scope for the UAE of assisting Bangladesh in the development sectors like trade and investment.
“Bangladesh is moving in the right way and we need help from the side of UAE to expand the existing relation between both the nations,” she said.
Expressing keen interest on building joint parliamentary partnership with Bangladesh, the UAE envoy said his country will always be by the side of Bangladesh in its development.
