The Bangladesh U-16 women’s national football team touched down at Mandalay Myanmar on Saturday to take part in the second round of qualifiers of the AFC U-16 Women’s Championship 2019 Thailand.
The eve team, which left Dhaka early Saturday, reached Myanmar at 11:30 am.
The LOC of Myanmar accorded a warm reception to the Bangladesh team at the Hotel Shwe Pyi Thae, Mandalay where the Bangladesh team are staying, according to a message received here from Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) on Saturday.
The team players are physically and mentally fine and fit.
The Bangladesh team is expected to take part a warm up session this afternoon and later join a team meeting in the evening at hotel where they are staying.
Bangladesh will start their campaign when they will face Philippine in their opening group B match on Wednesday (February 27) at 2 pm (BST) at Mandalay Thiri Stadium.
Earlier, before leaving Bangladesh for Myanmar, all the players and staff members expressed their high hope about doing well in the competition and qualifying for the finals.
On last Friday afternoon, the team met BFF president Kazi Salahuddin and exchanged greetings before leaving for Myanmar. The BFF boss motivated the players to play well in the tournament and encouraged them to give it their all for themselves and the country.
In the second round of qualifiers, Bangladesh will play in Group B against China, Philippines and Myanmar.
The girls in red and green will face hosts Myanmar on March 1 before finishing the tournament on March 3 against China.
