Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) and Saif Powerteck have jointly given a warm reception to Bangladesh under-14 football team which emerged champions one again in the AFC U-14 Regional Championship-2016 beating their Indian counterpart by 4-0 goals held on Sunday last at the
Aviator Stadium in Dushanbe, Tajikistan.
To honor the budding eve, BFF organised a reception ceremony at its conference room where all the members of the winning team, manager, coach and officials were present. They were also given cash prize along with crest to inspire them.
“My heartiest congratulation to the young girls…..we are proud of you and all the credits go to you. You will play such kind of game in regular basis … And also cognate to women’s football committee,” said the newly re-elected BFF president Kazi M Salahuddin.
Under- 14 team’s skipper Marjia said they had a good practice in BKSP prior to the tournament and they had a target to emerge champion in the tournament as they were pretty disciplined their job during the training session.
She said they get the trophy as they played good football against India and their target is to go ahead.
Deputy Chairman of BFF women’s committee Mahfuza Akter Kiron said, “We had expectation to emerge champion in the tournament. We are giving more emphasis on age level team to get good result for the big events in the future.”
“If this under-14 team put a continuous training, such kind of results will be come in regularly in future,” she added.
Highest scorer of the tournament Tohora Khatun in her immediate reaction said such kind of result would inspire them for the development of football.
Newly re-elected senior vice-president Abdus Salam Murshedy, Saif Powertec managing director Tarafdar Ruhul Amin, BFF vice-president Tabith Awal, BFF general secretary Abu Nayeem Sohag, under-14 team manager Rasheda Rahman, chief coach Golam Robanni Choton, BFF members Amirul Islam Babu, Swakat Ali Khan Jahangir and Amit Khan Shuvro were present, among others, on the occasion.
