U-14 National Women’s Football Championship to start on Aug 20

The JFA Under-14 National Women’s Football Championship will start on August 20 at the different venues across the country. The tournament is powered by Walton Group.
The competition of Rajshahi venue, Sherpur venue, Rajbari venue and Luxmipur venue will begin on August 20 but the meet of the Gaibandha venue and Jessore venue will start on August 23 due to flood.
A total of 35 districts splitting into six venues will take part in the first phase of the competition. The first phase will be held on knock out basis. Top six teams of six venues and two best runners-up will get tickets of the final round. The final round will be held in single league basis and the final round will be held in Dhaka in October.
To mark the ensuing football tournament, a press conference was held at the conference room of Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) House on Thursday.
Chairperson of the Women’s Wing of BFF Mahfuza Akter Kiron, Operative Director (Head of Sports & Welfare Department) of Walton Group FM Iqbal Bin Anwar Dawn, Chairman of Media Committee of BFF Amirul Islam Babu, Media Manager of BFF Ahsan Ahmed were present at the conference, among others.
Kiron said, ” We are going to stage the competition for the third time. We arranged the tournament in 2015 and in 2016. We shall select some booters from this competition. Then the selected players will be trained by professional coaches to form age group teams.”
Dawn said, ” We helped BFF last two years to organize the meet smoothly. If BFF needs we shall give all sorts of cooperation to coach the selected players.”
The champions of the each venue will be awarded Taka fifteen thousand.
The champions of the final round will get Taka fifty thousand, while the runners-up will be given Taka twenty five thousand.
