The Atom Gum Under-12 School Handball (Boys’ & Girls’) Tournament starts today at the Shaheed (Captain) M Mansur Ali National Handball Stadium.
Bangladesh Handball Federation has organized the handball competition, while Pran Confectionery Limited is the title sponsor of the meet.
Secretary of Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Dr Ahmad Kaikaus will inaugurate the handball tournament today as the chief guest, while Head of Marketing of Pran Confectionery Limited Shakhawat Ahmed will be with him as the special guest.
A total of 13 teams splitting into four groups will take part in the Boys’ Group. Scholastica, South Breeze School, Saint Gregory’s High School, Ideal School & College are in Group-A, Sunny Dale, Heed International, Motijheel Model School & College are in Group-B, BAF Shaheen School & College, South Point School & College, Shaheed Police Smriti School & College are in Group-C, Dhanmondi Tutorial, Narinda Government High School, Dhaka Residential Model School & College are in Group-D.
The Group-A champions will take on the champions of Group-D in the first semi-final on October 23, while the Group-B champions will face the Group-C champions in the second semi-final on the same day.
The winners of the two semi-finals will face each other in the final on the same day.
A total of 10 teams dividing into three groups will participate in the Girls’ Group.
Shaheed Bir Uttam Anwar School & College, Heed International School, Shaheed Police Smriti School & College, Siddeshwari Girls’ High School are in Group-A, Dhanmondi Tutorial, Sunny Dale, South Point School & College are in Group-B, South Breeze School, Scholastica, Viqarunnisa Noon School & College are in Group-C.
The champions of the Group-A will meet the champions of the Group-C in the first semi-final on October 23, while the champions of the Group-B will take on the runners-up of the Group-A in the second semi-final on the same day.
