Two youths named Miraj and Rubel have mysteriously died in the Kamrangirchar Coal Ghat area of the capital. Their age will be approximately 16 to 18 years. Kamrangirchar Police Station OC Mostafizur Rahman confirmed the information to the New Nation on Wednesday evening (May 25).
The incident occurred on Wednesday morning.
Police recovered the bodies of two youths and sent those to be DMCH for autopsy.
“Both of the bodies had signs of vomiting. We primarily suspected that they ate or drank something and died of poisoning,” OC said. According to locals, Miraj and his friend Md Rubel took poison in the morning, leaving Rubel dead on the spot. Miraj was taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where he died around 12.00pm.
