Two day labourers were electrocuted in Sunamgnaj on Wednesday morning.
Police said Mamun, 28, and Habib Ullah, 30, were from Paneshwar village at Ashuganj in Kishorganj.
Abu Talib, a resident of village Bhatipara at Derai upazila in Sunamgnaj, told New Age that the victims were returning in a boat through a canal from their village after unloading bricks. They came in contact with an electric supply line hanging loosely over the canal, while the boat was passing through the canal and died of electrocution, he added.
Derai police officer-in-charge Atikur Rahman said that the bodies were sent to Sunamganj Sadar Adhunik Hospital for post post-mortem examination.
