At least two construction workers died and three others were injured in a mudslide, while they were digging soil for construction of a culvert in Uttar Dharmoshur in Keraniganj upazila on Tuesday.
The incident occurred around 10 am.
The deceased were identified as Mohammad Mashiur, 40, and Awlia, 28. Both were the inhabitants of Kurigram district.
Sajina Begum, wife of deceased Moshiur, told media that workers were buried alive after soil chunks fell on them around 10:00am.
Mostafa Reza, Sub-Inspector of Keraniganj Model Police Station, told the media that the dead bodies of the two workers were recovered. They will be handed over to family members after completion of legal procedures.
