At least two women were brutally slaughtered by a youngman over a family feud at Gurui village under Nikli upazila
of Kishoreganj Zila on Saturday noon.
The victims were identified as Ayesha Akhter. (26) wife of Shawkat Ali, and Salma Akhter, (30) wife of Mostafa Miah from Gurui of Nikli upazila.
Locals and police sources said that killer Shawkat Ali (32), husband of Ayesha Akhter is a Dubai expatriate. He came home recently.
Shawkat Ali and Ayesha squabbled over a family feud on Friday night. On Saturday noon at one stage, in a fit of anger, Shawkat slaughtered his wife with a sharp knife. Locked the door and went to the house of his elder brother Mostafa Miah.
He slaughtered Mustafa with the same knife, leaving both dead.
Additional Police Super Md. Kamal Uddin confirming the incident said the killer Shawkat was arrested.
The two bodies were sent to Kishoreganj 250 Beded General Hospital morgue for autopsy. A case was field in this connection with Nikli.
