NZ mosque shooting: Two victims buried in N’ganj, Narsingdi

The victims who along with four other Bangladeshi nationals were killed in Christchurch mosque shooting in New Zealand were buried in Narayanganj and Narsingdi districts on Wednesday morning.
The dead bodies of Omar Faruk and Zakaria Bhuyaian were carried by a Singapore Airlines flight on Tuesday night.
Faruk’s body was buried at Rajbari in Narayanganj sadar upazila 11:00am after a namaz-e-janaza in the field of Sirajuddoula Club in in the upazila, our Narayanganj correspondent reports, quoting the deceased’s brother-in-law Sanwar Hossain.
He was an employee of a construction company in New Zealand, Sanwar Hossain said.
Faruk left country for New Zealand after he got married on December 29, 2017.
In Narsingdi, family members and relatives of Zakaria received the body at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport around 11:15pm, said Sharif Sarkar, brother-in-law of Zakaria.
“We left for Narsingdi after receiving the body. Zakaria was buried at his family graveyard in Joypura village under Palash upazila of Narsingdi,” he said.
Zakaria’s elder brother Alamgir Bhuiyan said that they received the body at HSIA 10:40pm on Tuesday. The deceased’s wife Rina went to New Zealand on March 20.
A total of 50 people were shot dead as a white supremacist shot and killed them at two mosques-Al Noor and Linwood-in Christchurch during Jum’a prayers on March 15. Among the dead, five were identified as Bangladeshi nationals.
