Deputy Police Commissioner (South) Golam Rouf Khan and Deputy Police Commissioner (Traffic) Uttam Kumar Paul of Barishal Metropolitan Police has been transferred to Industrial Police as Superintendent .
Dhananjoy Kumar Das, deputy secretary of home ministry signed the transfer letter on July 23 and two police official already released from BNP on July 24, confirmed Acting Police Commissioner of BMP Md Mahfuzur Rahman.
This transfer was happened only five days before of July 30, the scheduled date of fourth Barishal City Corporation election.
Not only that, Officer in Charge of Barishal Kotwali Police Station Shah Md. Awlad Hossain was transferred on last week before BCC election date.
Different sources including BNP expressed their anxiety about transfer and replacement of police officials.
Besides, BNP nominated Mayor Candidate Mojibor Rahman Sarwar alleged harassment by police against their election workers.
BNP led-20 parties alliance nominated mayor candidate Sarwar during his election propagation at `Nagor Bhavon’, told the journalist that Election Commission earlier assured us about conducting free fair BCC election better than Gazipur and Khuna. But our anxiety yet not removed. Our activists were harassed and arrested by police regularly.
