Prokash Biswas, 17, and Puja Boiragi, 16, attempted suicide over love affairs by taking poison at Vaudhar village in Wazirpur upazila on Monday.
Both of them rushed to nearby Agoiljhara health complex in critical condition and before crossing 24 hours their condition could not be ascertained or stable, said Dr. Bakhtiar Al Mamun, in charge of the health complex.
Family sources said both were habitats of Baropaika village under Ratnapur union of Agoiljhra and they were engaged in love since last few years.
But family members of both sides denying the relationship refused their marriage proposal.
Then they going to the house of Nihar Boiragi, maternal uncle of Prokash, at Vaudhar village under Wazirpur upazila on Monday morning and took poison for committing suicide there.
Afzal Hossain, officer in charge of Agoiljhara police station, said they yet not formally received any allegation and legal action would be taken over that suicide attempts.
