A young man was stabbed to death by miscreants at Sagarika Road in the city’s Pahartoli area on Thursday.
The victim was identified as Biswajit Dhar, 28, son of Milon Dhar of Banikpara in South Kattoli. A group of miscreants swooped on Biswajit while he was returning home around 8 pm and stabbed him indiscriminately, leaving him dead on the spot, said Swadip Kumar Das, officer-in-charge of Pahartoli Police Station.
UNB from Chattogram adds: A truck driver was stabbed to death by a gang of robbers on Dhaka-Chattogram Highway at Barobkundo in Sitakundu upazila early Thursday.
The deceased was identified as Sarwar, 40, son of Dulakaji, hailing from Alinagar Mithanagar village in Kaliganj upazila of Jhenidah district.
Md DelwarHossain, officer-in-charge of Sitakundu Police Station, said a gang of robbesr obstructed the truck on the highway around 4:30am and tried to loot valuables.
As the driver obstructed them, the robber gang stabbed him, leaving him critically injured.
Later, he was rushed to Sitakundu upazila health complex where doctors declared him dead.
