Entertainment Report :Two noted singers, also sisters, Rebeka Sultana and Abida Sultana last performed together in a stage show in Sweden 20 years ago. After a long time break, they again performed together in a live show in Bangladesh. Recently they performed together on Channel i’s live musical show Walton Ghorey Ghorey Amader Ponnyo Gaan-er Utsab.While sharing her feelings in this regard Rebeka Sultana said, “I gave special thanks to the channel authority to give us opportunity to perform together in a live musical show in a satellite channel. In the performme, I rendered songs of Ponchokobi and songs yesteryears.”Abida Sultana shared her feelings by this way, “Twenty years ago, I and Apa last performed together in a stage show outside the country. We really enjoyed the matter. Viewers also enjoyed the show.”It is noted that Rebeka Sultana did not release maximum number of solo albums because she was outside the country for many years. However, she has five solo albums in the market. Rebeka Sultana first gave her vocal for play-back song in Khan Ataur Rahman’s movie Jhorer Pakhi. Later she also gave her vocal for movies Bhawal Sonnyashi and Parul-er Songsar.On the other hand, Abida Sultana has nine solo and three mixed albums in the market. She first gave her voice for play-back songs in movie Yeh Korey Biye under Amir Ali’s music composition. But she became evergreen for rendering a playback song titled Bimurto ei ratri aamar mountar-e sutoi buna ekti rongin chador in Alamgir Kabir’s movie Shimana Periye. Later she also gave her vocal for other films’ songs.
