Two sisters have died tragically at Charshyamra village in Chanpur union of Mehendiganj upazila in Barishal district on Monday (May 30) morning.
Dead siblings were identified as Laboni Akhter (14) and Nabila Akhter (4), daughters of Ali Hossain Mollah of the village
According to the locals, the two sisters were electrocuted when they sat leaning their backs to the tin fence of the house for taking breakfast at around 8.30 am Monday.
After rescuing them in a dying condition when took to the Mehendiganj Upazila Health Complex, the doctors on duty declared the two sisters as dead.
Upon receiving the news, Upazila Nirbahi Officer Nurunnabi, Vice Chairman of Upazila Parishad Khorshed Alam Bhulu and AGM of Mehendiganj Palli Bidyut Samity Ziaur Rahman, visited the accident site.
Mehendiganj police station officer in charge Touhiduzzaman said it was initially thought that the accident was caused by a fault in the power supply line. Till this report no case was lodged in this connection.
