Two siblings shot, another stabbed by robbers in city

Robbers have shot two brothers and stabbed their sister at the time of committing robbery at a house in Tejgaon, Dhaka area early Thursday.
They are identified as Naren Ranjan, 38, an official of an IT firm, his brother Rajesh Alexander, 33, an official of Premier Bank, and their sister Bipasha, 42, a housewife. They were admitted to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) in a critical condition.
Tejgaon Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mazharul Islam said, “Three robbers entered an apartment on the second floor of a six-storey building at Tejgaon’s Arzatpara and started ransacking the rooms around 4:30am. When the brothers tried to resist them, the robbers hacked them indiscriminately Seeing the locals coming to the spot, the three robbers reportedly wearing masks fled without taking valuables with them, the OC said.
The robbers also opened fire at the siblings, leaving them critically injured.
“We are investigating the incident and trying to arrest the robbers, the police official said.
A case was filed in this connection, he said.
