At least two kids drowned in a pond adjacent to their house at Nansree Village under Joyka Union in Karimganj upazila of Kishoreganj on Monday.
The deceased were identified as Mahim (7) and Reyad (5) sons of Md. Ratan Miah at Nansree village of Karimganj upazila.
Local sources said, the two brothers fell in the pond while playing on its bank. They drowned as they did not know how to swim. The bodies of the two children were recovered and sent to local health centre, while duty doctor declared death.
Karimganj Police Station Officer -in-charge (OC) Shamsul Alam Siddique confirmed the matter..
The bodies were then handed over to family on Monday after completing all necessary formalaties, OC, Karimganj added.
