Two young siblings drowned while taking bath in a pond in the outskirts of the town on Wednesday.
The fatalities were identified as Apan 2 son of Amin uddin , and his younger sibling Mawya 1 daughter of Abul Kalam all residents of Baradi eight kilometers away from the town .
Kushtia Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge Nasir Uddin said the children were bathing in the pond beside the houses in the morning. At the time of their bathing when Mawa was swamped in the water, the brother went to pick her up. After that time, he also submerged in pond water.
After some time the Residents were shocked to find the bodies of the children floating in the pond.
When the family members tried to rescue her, the body of Apan was also seen floating there. Later, they rescued the bodies and brought to Kushtia Medical college Hospital. They were pronounced dead on arrival by the attending physician.
