A court here on Thursday put two people on a 4-day remand each in a case over rape on a running truck in Siddirganj upazila. Narayanganj Chief Metropolitan Magistrates’ Court passed the order when police produced two accused in the case truck driver Mehedi Hasan and helper Sohan—before the court, said officer-in-charge of Sidhirganj Police Station Abdus Sattar. On Tuesday night, a 15-year-old girl was allegedly gang-raped inside a running truck in Siddhirganj upazila of the district. On Wednesday night, driver Mehedi Hasan was arrested from in front of Adamji Sonamia Market area, who confessed to raping the girl during the primary interrogation. Later police arrested another accused Sohan from Godanail area in Siddirganj on Thursday morning.
