A woman and her daughter who along another member of the family sustained burn injuries in a fire that broke out at their house in the city on Friday night
died at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) in the capital on Saturday evening.
The deceased were identified as Monwara Begum, 45, wife of late Jakir Hossain, their daughter Jahida Akter, 20.
Monwara and Jahida, who were undergoing treatment with 60 percent burns, succumbed to their injuries at the DMCH burn unit in the evening, said Kabir Jafir Setu, a relative of the family and also a teacher of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology.
