Detectives detained two ‘criminals’ along with firearms from Udalbaniya area under Rajbila union early Friday.
The detained men are Md Rubel and Ilias. Police said, on secret information, a team of detective branch (DB) of police conducted a drive in the area early today.
Sensing presence of the team, the criminals opened fire to police, prompting the law enforcers team to fire back. Later, police rescued injured Rubel and Ilias.
A foreign pistol, four bullets, money, some criminal equipment and 100 yaba pills were recovered from them.
Officer-in-Charge of DB police Manjur Alam said, Ilias is a listed criminal.
