Sinha murder: Two more APBn members give confessional statements

Two more accused and members of Armed Police Battalion (APBn) have given their confessional statements under Section 164 of CrPc in Major Sinha Mohammad Rashed Khan murder case.
The statements were recorded in the room of Cox’s Bazar Senior Judicial Magistrate (Teknaf-3) Tamanna Farah.
The accused were brought in the court at about 12:00 noon by a RAB investigation team. Then they were taken to the confidential room of the judge where ASI Shajahan and constable Rajib gave confessional statements.
Earlier on Wednesday (August 26), another accused APBn member Abdullah made confessional statement under Section 164. The statement was recorded in the confidential room of Judge Tamanna Farah.
A RAB team brought the APBn member in the court at about 4:30pm. Then he was taken to the judge’s room where he made confessional statement over three and a half hours. He was taken to the Cox’s bazar District Jail at about 8:15pm.On August 17 last, a RAB team took three APBn members into their custody. At about 12:30pm on the following day, they were produced in a court showing arrested. The investigation officer of RAB pleaded to the court to place the accused three APBn members on a 10-day remand. The court granted them seven day remand. They were taken into the RAB custody on August 22.
They were ASI Shajahan, constable Abdullah and constable Rajib. All there were posted at the APBn checkpost on July 31 when Major (Retd) Sinha was killed in police firing.
Earlier three APBn members — Assistant Sub-inspector Shahjahan, and constables Rajib and Abdullah — were arrested on August 18. Later, they were put on remand.
They were on duty at the APBn check-post on the Cox’s Bazar Marine Drive during the killing.
Sinha was killed in police firing at Baharchhara police check-post in Teknaf upazila on July 31.
His elder sister Sharmin Shahriar Ferdous filed a case with Teknaf Senior Judicial Magistrate Court on August 5.
